If you wish to contact our data protection officers directly regarding a confidential matter, please use the following email address: dsb (at) freshcompliance.de
How do we collect your data?
Some data are collected when you provide it to us. This could, for example, be data you enter in the subscription form.
Other data are collected automatically by our IT systems when you visit the website. These data are primarily technical data such as the browser and operating system you are using or when you accessed the page. These data are collected automatically as soon as you enter our website.
We pass your data on to our data processors (you can find out more about this below). There is no intention to transfer your personal data to a recipient in a third country outside of the European Union or an international organization.
What do we use your data for?
Part of the data is collected to provide the information you have requested or to process your online donation. We need other data to ensure the proper functioning of the website. Some data can be used to analyze your user behavior.
What rights do you have regarding your data?
Revocation of your consent to the processing of your data
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent (legal basis Art. 6 (1) 1 (a) GDPR). You may revoke your consent at any time with future effect. An informal email making this request is sufficient. The legality of the data processing up to the revocation as well as legal permissions remain unaffected by a revocation of the consent.
If there has been a breach of data protection legislation, the person affected may file a complaint with the competent regulatory authorities. The competent regulatory authority for matters related to data protection legislation is the data protection officer of the German state in which our company is headquartered. The North Rhine-Westphalia State Data Protection Commissioner is responsible for us: Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Kavalleriestr. 2 - 4, 40213 Düsseldorf, poststelle [at] ldi.nrw.de (poststelle[at]ldi[dot]nrw[dot]de).
You can object to the processing of your personal data for advertising purposes at any time. This also applies to a related evaluation of certain characteristics. In addition, there is a right of objection for reasons arising from your particular situation against processing for other purposes, which is based on a balance of interests.
You have the right to have data which we process based on your consent or in fulfillment of a contract automatically delivered to yourself or to a third party in a standard, machine-readable format. If you require the direct transfer of data to another responsible party, this will only be done to the extent technically feasible.
Legal bases and data security
Your data will be processed within the framework of our statutory purposes (legal basis Art. 6 (1) 1 (f), Art. 9 (2) d) GDPR), for the processing of grants (legal basis Art. 6 (1) 1 b) and c) GDPR) and for our own advertising purposes (legal basis Art. 6 (1) 1 (f) and recitals (47) GDPR).
The operators of this website take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data as confidential and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.
If you use this website, various pieces of personal data will be collected. Personal information is any data with which you could be personally identified. This privacy policy explains what information we collect and what we use it for. It also explains how and for what purpose this happens.
Please note that data transmitted via the internet (e.g. via email communication) may be subject to security breaches. Complete protection of your data from third-party access is not possible.
Use of payment service providers
If you enter into a contract which requires you to send us your payment information (e.g. account number for direct debits), we will require this data to process your payment.
Urgewald commissions service providers who support us in processing online and email donations as well as credit card payments. These companies have access to donor information as part of their Urgewald service. Urgewald requires these companies to protect such information and to use it only within the scope of the agreed service.
Our German payment service provider Fundraising Box stores the name of the donor, his account number and email address, if the donor also wishes a donation receipt, including his postal address. Fundraising Box sends some of this information to Urgewald for our internal donation processing. In order to process the donations, Fundraising Box also sends some donor information to the payment service provider Micropayment. Paypal donations are processed via the donor's Paypal account. In this case, Urgewald receives some donor information from Paypal in order to be able to book and process the donation.
Here you will find the data protection declarations of Fundraising Box, Micropayment and Paypal.

You can recognize an encrypted connection in your browser's address line when it changes from "http://" to "https://" and the lock icon in your browser line is visible.
In the case of encrypted communication, any payment details you submit to us cannot be read by third parties.
We have concluded contracts with Fundraising Box and Micropayment for order data processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the data protection authorities for the use of the services of Fundraising Box and Micropayment.
Your data will be deleted after the legal retention periods have expired, unless further processing is necessary for asserting, exercising or defending legal claims or making commercial contact. We check the latter at the end of each calendar year following the first storage.
You can request information about the stored data from us and have the right to correction of incorrect data, to restriction of processing as well as a right to deletion or blocking, insofar as this does not conflict with a legal obligation to retain data.
You can contact us at any time at the address given in the site notice if you have any further questions on the subject of personal data.

If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transfer to us cannot be read by third parties.
